The Sacramento Valley Boxer Club walked for the cause for the third year and this year helped to raise over $60,000 to Fight Canine Cancer!!!

All moneys collected go directly to Morris Animal Foundation's Canine Cancer Campaign to fund research toward a cure!

More than 29 teams participated in the Top Dogs Contest.  The Top Dogs Contest winners are:

Top Dog Contest Winners

Top Team: Team Homeward Bound with more than $7,000 raised
Most Team Members: WAG, Inc. with nearly 60 members
Top Fundraiser (individual): Wolfgang Jilka, of Team Homeward Bound, with more than $1,900 raised
Most Spirit: For the second year in a row, Team Greyhound. The greyhounds raised more than $1,600 for the K9 Cancer Walk!

Morris Animal Foundation and the Sacramento Volunteers are working hard to take the K9 Cancer Walk national. Our vision is to encourage and support other dog lovers to host a dog walk fundraiser in their home town to help raise much need funds for canine cancer research. Human Cancer Walks are a very successful way of rallying support and effectively raising money to fund research. In difficult financial times it is even more critical that we dog lovers step up and support research for early detection methods, effective treatments and ultimately a cure.
